Most everyone knows how important CO2 is for our environment and how trees convert it back to oxygen so we can live and breathe. When you breathe in, you inhale oxygen and when you breathe out, you exhale CO2. The female mosquito knows this and she has special little antennas that locate minuet particles of CO2 in the air. She senses the CO2 and comes after you. When she gets close to you, she also sees the heat images your body puts out and then she flies around you until she finds the body temperature she like and she makes her attack. She needs your blood so she can get the protein to lay her eggs. So if you are breathing and producing body heat, those mosquitoes are after you.
If you are lucky, you might not taste good to a mosquito.
Attracting Methods
#1
The Mosquito Terminator mimics the potential prey (you, your family & pets) using a temperature controlled skin emulator that puts out varying heat images that simulate different body temperatures.#2
The Mosquito Terminator expels CO2. The Co2 is the most important component for attracting mosquitoes. That is why we use nothing but Co2 and that is why we expel Co2 in very specific amounts. This is controlled by a very complicated electromechanical system.#3
The Mosquito Terminator also has a special lighting combination to attract certain types of female mosquitoes.Using the three attracting methods mentioned above.
The
Mosquito Terminator attracts the mosquitoes close to the very sensitive vacuum system located under the hood near the special lights and skin emulator. Then the mosquitoes and other biting insects like no-seeums are drawn into the capture chamber where they die of hunger and dehydration. The capture chamber is enclosed with a special net so the insects do not fall to the ground and create a feeding frenzy for other insects that are not wanted. What to expect and how long does it take to work?
If you expect this system to clear out your mosquito problem over night,
do not buy it. This system must be given a least 10 to 15 days of operation time to allow it to attract and capture most of the female mosquitoes in your area. After 10 to 15 days you will see a minimum reduction of 50% in the mosquito population. The following 10 to 15 days will allow the system to attract and capture the mosquitoes that hatched from the eggs that were laid on the first 10 to 15 days. Placement, location and weather conditions also have a big roll in how well your unit will work. The unit is effective in covering your average backyard. You may need to add more units or move the Mosquito Terminator around to different locations if you have more than a 1/2 acre to be controlled. Please call if you have any questions 281-850-4604.
